On the day of the hair transplant, the new hairline is first drawn, as discussed in advance. Only then is the individual grafts removed under local anesthesia and in accordance with the individually appropriate method. Inserted in a new place in the scalp, up to three hairs can be transplanted at the same time. The advantage is that healthy hair roots remain completely intact.

In order to prevent possible complications during hair transplantation, there are a few things to keep in mind. Do not take acetylsalicylic acid pain relievers for ten days before treatment. Hair loss stoppers containing minoxidil should also be avoided for at least one week. In addition to going to bed early, we also recommend restricting smoking and drinking alcohol the night before.

Note: On the day of treatment, wear loose, comfortable clothing that does not have to be put on or taken off over your head.

The DHI hair transplant is usually carried out on an outpatient basis and under local anesthesia.

As a further development of FUE hair transplantation, no complex surgery is necessary with the innovative DHI method. For hair removal, the doctor doesn’t even make cuts. Instead, the donor hair is removed individually from the back of the head using a 0.7 millimeter patented micro tool. This technique not only lowers the risk of infection, it also avoids unsightly scars. The removed grafts are then stored in a special solution at a special temperature. The aim is to minimize the amount of time the hair follicles remain outside the body as much as possible. This prevents the graft from drying out and optimizes its long-term growth. Without any further external influence, the hair follicles are then replanted in a new place in the scalp. Shortening or even shaving off the hair is an advantage before removal, but is by no means necessary with the DHI method.

After the hair specialist has individually removed the hair follicles, he implants them into the specified thinning area of the scalp using a patented DHI mini needle. This also happens without any cuts or scars. Due to the individual control of the direction of growth, angle and depth of the donor hair, the modern, unique DHI hair transplant guarantees a particularly natural and, above all, lifelong result. The minimally invasive method takes little time compared to conventional hair transplants and is also almost painless. Furthermore, the innovative process is not associated with any major downtimes. As a rule, the first hair transplanted grows back after about two months. The final result is achieved within a year of treatment.

A bandage protects the removal region after the procedure, which the patient only has to wear the following day. Although you will be able to perform again immediately after the hair transplant, we recommend restricting physical exertion for a few days. It is also essential to use sun protection for at least three months. This is the only way to prevent pigmentation disorders on the top of the head.

In order to be able to objectively assess the results of the hair transplant, we advise our patients to have regular check-ups in our practice.

In the first three days after DHI hair transplantation, we recommend that patients treat their hair and scalp with a moisturizing spray. From the fourth day after the treatment, the hair and the transplant area can be washed for the first time – up to twice a day. We recommend a special shampoo for this, which the patient should also use for the following hair washes. Important note: until the scab has completely dissolved after about ten days, massage in the shampoo very carefully. Newly inserted hair can also fall out during this time. This is perfectly normal with this method. To protect the transplant area from the sun, we recommend wearing a hat.
